All 3 of the barrels I have are not much better to a factory barrel as far as I'm concerned. They also did a poor job lapping them which means they foul pretty bad.Shilen makes 3 or 4 grades of barrels and I recommend the Select Match. It has the tightest tolerances and has proven it's self to be a performer. If the seller can prove it's a Select Match, it could be a good deal.

With the Bench rest crowd there is a lot of the follow the leader syndrome so barrels will come and go in popularity until a top competitor wins with one and everybody gets back on the bandwagon. Had a criterion remage barrel in 243 8tw. On a trued action it shot great, lots of groups in the .2s&.3s. Cleaned up as easy as my barts and kriegers. I pulled the barrel at 2400-2500, it's been 6yrs ago, so kinda fuzzy. It still shot under 3/4moa, with no flyers or wild shots at distance, but it had lost 125fps.
