So I feel Tradovate is the best option for most people, although it may be worth opening a TradeStation futures account for the charting, if nothing else for backtesting. There used to be a $2K minimum balance for their TS Select Plan but as far as I can tell they removed the minimum balance.

Tradovate and TS have pros and cons. TradeStation software is much more powerful. Their desktop app only runs on Windows though. Tradestation has much lower margins ($292 for MES) and rates. Would need to look into how the platform is though. Yea i looked at trade station before and decided on tradovate. I think they will get the reliability sorted out and honestly if it is only during crazy volatility times, i can avoid that.

My tradingview chart differs from the one on tradovate. If you connect the 2 then the data feed that you pay for on tradovate can be used on tradingview. Also if you so desire you could use tradingview to actually place trades through tradovate. Tradingview has this option available for a couple of different brokers.

As I said I don't use Tradovate, but basic data in CQG data in Ninjatrader is $12 a month, and it provides the main CME instruments, among many others. Either way, you are paying for market data.
