Not to steal your thread but I'm also thinking about a rough country leveling kit on my 04 fx4 crew cab, gonna use stock 17" wheels, will 35s fit without any modification ... will 35s fit without any modification. they should but don't quote me, get a tire place to tell you for sure. ... yeah i'm putting a 2.5 inch leveling kit on my 97 f150 ...

It may or may not bother you. With 1.25” wheel adapters (“spacers”), you’ll stop rubbing the suspension but you’ll start rubbing the crash bars. The crash bars can be spread or removed to resolve this. 1.25” is the thinnest adapter you can use without cutting down the factory wheel studs.
I have a 2013 and this looks great! I fit 34.75" tires on my 2013 f150 with a Bilstein level at max setting. No timing at all. No rubbing at all, even at full lock. They were 295 75 R18 on the stock rims. Even when going over obstacles offroad I haven't had issues with rubbing.

If it's leveled 2.5" and you put 35s, you should be ok with some minor trimming. Others have said that 1/4" wheel spacers will take away the need for trimming. Either way, you'll be alright. Maybe with a skinny 35", a 34.5x11.5 may work. I had 35's on my '04 with a 2 1/2" level and had rubbing until I found wheels that were 8 inches wide with 5 1/2 inches of backspacing. Tires were 315x70x17 BFG AT's. Had them on 9 inch wheels w/ 5 inches of BS and they rubbed when turning. Have pics in my gallery.
