Be sure you hot a clean air filter, and fuel filter. After that if you don't find anything I would move to the injection area. Maybe have you injectors checked.2012 6.6 DEF continuous problems. I have an '05 duramax. Am having acceleration issues at 2000 rpm. Once I hit 2000, regardless of the gear, it bogs down, loosing acceleration. then it will not run over 2000 rpm in high gear, which is about 65 mph. The new 2018 seems to intermittently when driving and pushing on the accelerator to intermittently hesitate like it is staving for fuel almost like a slight bucking. It started at around 300 miles and is still happening, but it is so intermittent it only happens 2 times in appx 60 miles.

As you know the Duramax does not have a lift pump to push the fuel from the fuel tank to the engine, it uses the injection pump [CP3], to draw/suck the fuel from the fuel tank through all the fuel lines, filter, FICM and then into the CP3. 2016 LML intermittent power loss and recovery. Just did a 3K trip on my 2016 over 3 days. Once each day for about 5 minutes while running at interstate speeds I had a power loss with excessive black smoke. Each time it lasted about 5 minutes and then was back to full power with no indications ever of any problems.
