However, my school will be finished with didactic curriculum at the end of this year and is giving us the option to take Step 1 before January 26th for a three-digit score (we'd have about 5 weeks for a dedicated period).

I gave my step 1 on 11th January. I read on reddit that you can check whether you passed or fail a little before the marks come out. Not sure how to check it though. I also did on 11th. IMO amboss is a harder q bank than UW so an 80% average on it is very good. I would expect you to do well on step 1 but since amboss step 1 qbank is quite new idk how it correlates with a step 1 score. Do an NBME or UW qbank to better see where you are at. That being said, I casually did amboss qbank throughout m2 year and had 75% correct ... 1% because everyone uses uworld differently. Some read a topic then do questions on that topic, which inflates scores. Some use it purely as a learning tool with no background knowledge. The best predictive tool for step1 is nbme 25-31.
