Once you put it on, you may have to hold F while clicking on and manipulating the screen of the device, I've had mixed results with it "locking" my view to it like the ship summon screens do. Correct, you may need to check your key binds. Maybe it was removed on your key binds ? I just fly around, not in scan mode (V) and just hit Tab over and over.
