The .380 gives increased concealability and lighter weight in a trade off for some ease of handling and reliability.

LCP Max by a mile. I own a S&W 442 (black version of the 642) and LCP Max. The LCP prints less, fits in a pocket better, has less recoil, better trigger, better sights, double the capacity, and when it comes time to reload jamming a mag in the grip is way faster than even a good speed loader.

Long story short, I ended with Glock 42, although there were times when I wished I had the LCP II. P.S. Sights on G42 are easier to see in low-light conditions, such as under moon or remote streetlights. Stock lights are not night sights, but at least you have that option. Sights on LCP II are part of the slide and cannot be replaced.
