Feb 11, 2019 · Tradovate has multiple limit order types ranging from Good-to-Cancel to trailing stops and conditional bracket orders. Bracket orders are buy and/or sell orders placed at both ends of a price range. One-cancels-other (OCO) bracket order will cancel out the remaining order after the first order is executed.
TDA is a good all around broker, but it's not a futures broker. If you trade exclusively futures NinjaTrader and Tradovate are the two most popular brokers. It's not just the commission difference, but the tools they offer.Thoughts on Tradovate platform? An acquaintance uses the Tradovate platform for futures because of their low fees. I checked out their site and disclosures and it says there's no insurance in case of bankruptcy or misappropriation on funds deposited. Tradovate will lag during busy crazy events, so buyer beware. If you avoid those you should be fine. If you want to go deep down the rabbit hole, you can do anything on Sierra Chart and it is way cheaper than Ninja Trader. Be prepared to spend a good amount of time learning/setting up the software to how you like it if you go that route.
Tradovate is a very good choice. I have used tradovate for several months now. I like the dome and charting. I do wish there were more options availability on the charts and I hope they will come in the future. Pricing is very competitive and customer service is excellent. Free platform. Comparable if not cheaper commissions than AMP. For scalpers i would say tradovate is the way to go if you get the commission free trading package.
