It is the first of a new class of DNA polymerase IIIC inhibitors under development by Acurx to treat bacterial infections. Ibezapolstat has completed a phase 1 study in the United States [80]. The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involved 62 healthy adults and was divided into three parts.
