The 41's have gone down the road, and the .357's barely get fired. Forget the 44 Magnum, and get a 44 Special. Accurate, easy to load for, and fun to shoot. Chamberd for Special, there is no build up to clean. Out to 50 yards they shoot flatter than the .357. Have mercy, been waitin' for the bus all day.

Both .357 Magnum and .44 Special (with other than the 'weak sister' factory loads) are both very capable calibers for self defense. Subjectively, I find the .357 Magnum in suitable loads to be more 'snappy' in recoil and a bit harsher in report than the .44 Special. The .44 Special - in 'older' guns tends to be heavier.
