Feb 12, 2020 · Installed a SCCY CPX-2 trigger spring kit and noticed a big difference right away. Installation was fairly easy if you follow the video. I was a little clumsy and had to chase the firing pin across the room a half dozen times and had some other minor issues due to big fat fingers and not having the 'proper' tools.

Kit includes a reduced power firing pin spring and a reduced power trigger return spring. Great upgrade for these pistols that helps with accuracy and reliability. Removed existing spring, used a # 25 drill to clear the epoxy(?) seal and cleaned the hole with a #10-24 tap and then installed the kit as per video instruction. The 2.5 lb trigger pulled at 2 lb 6 oz 1st pull and then dropped to 1 lb 11oz to 1 lb 15 oz on subsequent pulls. Trigger is crisp quick take-up and short overtravel.

I have purchased and installed 3 of these kits. 2 on Sccy cpx-2 red dot 2nd gen and 1 on Sccy cpx-1 red dot 2 gen. The kit has dropped the trigger pull by half on the cpx-2 and a little bit more than half on the cpx-1. These kits are great, exactly as advertised and install videos are very detailed.To adjust the trigger on your SCCY CPX-2, you can use a small flathead screwdriver to turn the adjustment screw located on the front of the trigger. The pin/cam is metal. That’s where mine failed. The plastic trigger stretched and rounded off completely. I installed an aluminium trigger and a lighter trigger spring kit, problem solved. See YouTube or contact SCCY. The fix: Removing the fire control unit from the frame, and polish up the trigger bar and reassemble.
The main issue about the SCCY SPX-2 is the trigger. As mentioned before, the reset is very long, and the chances of short-stroking the trigger is easy. However, all this can be fixed by training with the pistol until you are accustomed to the long trigger-pull. To some, the sound of the reset isn’t clear or loud enough to be heard.
The trigger is crisp but don’t buy a flat CMC type. It will not work. Also you may end up shaving some of the poly down for a upper to fit. Not a big deal. Oh and a Gen 3 PMAG won’t work either. Not that the stock trigger was hard to use, but this is a noticeable improvement vs stock.
