That being said, I have a regular JRA M14 and I wouldn't trade it for one of the welded ones. I think the real M14 heal is cool for a collector, but as a shooter I like the solid, one piece forging of my receiver. Don't know specifically about a completed JRA M14 rifle, but I have used a number of JRA / Bula receivers in builds and have had excellent results. Receivers were made for JRA first by LRB Arms on Long Island NY, then 7.62 MM Firearms in Medina Ohio and finally by Bula Defense Systems in Cleveland Ohio.

The two downsides to M14F are the price and the weight. It currently lists for $2,195.00 on JRA’s website. The M14 and its clones have always been expensive to manufacture due to the intricate machining required on the receiver and several other parts. Just bought a James River BM59 and put 50 rds of Hirtenberger 150 gr .308 through it. I bought the rifle from SARCO for $900.00; fully assembled and head spaced. This is a cast receiver made by James River and looks to be cleanly milled and fits the stock tightly. No reason to get a BM-59 vs. M1A unless you are into collecting one. There are some great choices for M1A's / M14's and though more involved than an AR, you can build your own tackdriver. The JRA's must have been a big hit the BM59s where $1050 not long ago and IIRC the JRA M1a is a cast receiver for those that care.

JRA Rockola M14's are a good deal, as its hard to build the same rifle building from parts for the same price, but if you buy your own parts you can control exactly what goes into it. The M14 is no different.. AS long as the original firearm receiver has been properly "destroyed" it is now just a piece of metal.. The M14/M1A clip is located in the thinnest part of a wooden handguard which tends to crack. The BM59 designers apparently figured a way to move the clip to a thicker location.
