Car felt odd; traction was horrible despite the roads being all right, taking foot off the break did not have it go around 5 mph like usual. I pulled into a parking lot, checked some things (nothing found), stopped and started a few times. I forget what year it changed, but the 07 FSM says it on page 125 of BRC: WITHOUT CONSULT-II. Set the steering wheel in a straight forward position and drive the vehicle at 10 mph (15 km/h) or more for 10 minutes. When the procedure is complete, the SLIP indicator lamp and VDC OFF indicator lamp will turn off.My VDC off and SLIP light came on when I started the Xterra today and never went off. After months of driving with no lights on, this morning the ABS, BRAKE, VDC, and SLIP lights all came back on. Of course, it's due for the yearly inspection this month and I'm not sure it will pass in Texas with those four lights on.

If I hit the rear diff switch the REAR DIFF light goes out and then ABS and SLIP come on. I can hear the 4wd engage both high and low when I turn it on with my door open.

The P0420 code means there is an issuie with the catalytic converter on bank 1. This can cause stalling, but in most cases won't. Dealer said it was throwing a steering angle sensor code so they replaced the battery and the sensor. They didn't have a clue how to reset the VDC Slip warning so I have been trying to do it myself. First I have four dash board lights on, and they are ABS, VDC,SLIP and the Check Engine. Secondly, the rear tires are dragging when reversing or turning. I took it to AutoZone and used their scanner and received code P0420 and P0430 - Catalytic converter system. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Put the original Brake switch back in.
