First thing you need to check is the vacuum box behind your battery. Remove your battery and tray and you'll see a black box with a line going into it. Disconnect the line and remove the box. The box is made out of two pieces of plastic and can seperate. I was in the same boat as you and my box was split in two pieces.

If it goes away when you switch it to 4x4 its a bad IWE or IWE solenoid. If it is the IWE grinding it's not urgent but it'll eventually grind itself out and the hub won't lock when you put it in 4x4. I assume you still have warranty being a 2016.So I got a brand new 2023 XLT 2.7L ecoboost two weeks ago with only 5km's on it. On the second or third day at about 250-300km's I noticed this weird humming buzzing vibrating sound coming from the front driver side area.
Shifting in/out of 4X4, and noise disappears going into 4H, usually indicates an IWE problem. Doesn't matter the mileage, it can happen at anytime. Sounds somewhat like you're describing a wheelbearing, but noise disappearing is a pretty good indications of an IWE. As always, the checkvalve and/or solenoid are suspect, as well as a leak in hoses.
