A little less crit than misericorde, but more damage, more reach, and you can poke behind a shield. I keep a Misericorde in my back pocket in general for the crit stab so I just use Flame of the Redmanes in whatever my main weapon is (when i use it) I use it on my double halberds. Knock them down and then fuck em up with 6-8 halberd hits each time.

Also, once you get the proper whetblade you gain access to the flame art affinity which scales off faith. Misericorde is best option imo, can go Flame Art path and scale with faith if you don't want to do str, gives you loads of spell options that way (Crucible Tail also breaks stance well and acts as blunt damage for the Crystal guys). Rapier can be a good option too as it has 130 crit and more range with it's moveset.
