For dual crossbows ranger is bad choice as their marks would eat you bonus actions. Gloomstalker+Assassin is much better with longbow or heavy crossbow, and have VERY powerful synergy. For dual crossbows go fighter battle master with thief, 5 fighter and 3 thief asap. For both, full dex, minimal strength and other stuff as you want. 0. PrincePapa.
