My wife and i (both 66 y/o, seasoned travellers, comfortable w/ public transport, like the outdoors and water) are travelling to Berlin late July. From Berlin we are taking a train to a few places (Prague/Vienna/Budapest) before arriving Zagreb (fm Budapest) on or about 4 August. Say 10-15 Euros average price for a meal for 2 people (except in Dubrovnik.) Croatia is cheaper in this respect. Drinks are cheaper as well, a beer price and coke average 12-15kn (app. 1,5 Euros-2 Euros, same as coffee price) though you can't walk in the bar and have tapas and glass of wine like you can do in Spain.

I quite like the weather in November as it is cooler. It is not the month to see Croatia at its stunning best. My favourite months here are April, May, June, September and October.

We were pleasantly surprised.It really depends if you're looking for really intense nightlife or a quiet, relaxing time. Hvar is the former and Brac is the latter. Both offer amazing nature and a rich itinerary in culture and gastronomy.
