It does not say anywhere on the revolver what the caliber is. There is a serial number of P54448 under the trigger guard and also on the frame under the left hand grip. The M serial prefix was used only 1904-1905 on large frame black powder .38 S&W caliber hammer models, which had flat mainsprings, and M45423 was made in 1904.
