G30s vs g30sf.
G30 gen 4 size vs G30sf. I am recently new to Glocks (mainly a Walther P99 guy due to grip size) and since recently getting a G26 I have gone Glock crazy I guess....I want a G30sf since I prefer the grip size better but will the new Gen 4 G30 be the exact size/smaller than the SF. I don't want to order one if it is any larger than the SF.
Lucian_253. The Glock 30sf is a gen.3 short frame, the 30S is a gen.3 30sf frame, with a more slim slide. I'm assuming the 30 your asking about is the 30 gen.4. Which is a 30sf with no back straps on it in frame size, but with the gen.4 grip texture, extended mag release, etc. I own the 30sf, and find it to be a very soft shooting .45 acp.The G30S uses a unique slide stop/slide release which is also used in the G41 for their thinner slides. The G30 was pretty beefy to carry iwb but is super accurate. Both are soft shooters. The trigger on the 45c sucks but an apex alum trigger kit (80bucks) fixed that. Glock replacement sights will cost you the same. So it is kind of a wash the 45c is a nicer feel in the hand, but I always end up back carrying a glock. The problem is that like all HK gear, it costs you out the NOSE to get one. While the S&W M&P 45C comes in at around $525 or so, the Glock 30 various models are about the same, but the HK 45C prices out at a WHOPPING $1,050!! That is a LOT OF CASH for sure.
