Ever since I sat on the bike, and put my feet flat on the floor, and after I could feel how comfortable I felt on the seat, I knew the bike was for me.
I changed the oil following the shop manual's instruction and added 3.9 Quarts of new oil. I started the bike, warmed her up, shut her down, waited a short while for the oil to settle into the pan, and checked the level. The level is still showing high. Not trying to step on any toes here, the manual is very specific on type of oil you can use on that particular bike. I have the 2003, 1800 R/S. I put synthetic on my first oil change, made the clutch slip. Went back to straight motor oil, had to change it again after 50 miles to flush out the synthetic. PS.

They get hard from hot oil and the edges get knocked down.I think I may check mine (gear oil) every other year (season), but then again, I may be lucky to put on a couple thousand miles a season. It just goes down and I feel no pressure and the bike does not slow at all. The fluid is full in the reservoir.
